A prize winning proposal for the new Head Quarters of National Grid Transco, 2004

The blown glass form is inspired by elements associated with the production and transportation of electricity namely insulators as seen on pylons and in power stations. The glass will also capture the energy and vividness also associated with electricity through the use of striking colour combinations. The interplay of the translucent colours and the ebb and flow of lighting evoke the intangible nature of electricity.
